Oceanside CA— The Assistance League of North Coast is very appreciative of Barnes and Noble of Oceanside for teaming up with the organization to collect books towards ALNC’s annual book donation program to local schools in Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista. Last year ALNC was able to deliver over 17,000 books to students in all three school districts. Barnes and Noble started a Holiday Book Drive on November 1^st which will continue until December 24^th.
Customers are asked if they would like to purchase a pre-k through 5^th grade book to donate to the program which benefits both ALNC and Fousset Elementary School in Oceanside. In just three weeks ALNC has received donations from the store of over 450 books! Barnes and Noble also asked ALNC if it would like to hold a book fair in which a percent of all sales will be donated to the organization if customers say at check out that they want to donated to ALNC.
The Book Fair will be held on Sunday, December 5^th. The Assistance League will be holding a story-time of winter holiday stories and provide arts and crafts in which each child will take home their own ornament from 2:00-4:00 PM.
There will also be a special guest, Emmy winning News anchor for channel 5 evening news, and author, Andrew Luria who will be signing his book, “The Adventures of Charlie Marley: Midnight’s Moment in Time”.
