Oceanside CA— DreamKeepers Project Inc, support group for the women and children of the Mental Health Systems Family Recovery Center is pleased to announce the dedication of the Hope Garden, honoring garden founder Joan Jacobson, on Sunday morning, December 19th at 11:00 am.
A plaque honoring Joan’s vision and hard work will be installed in the garden, and refreshments will be served.
The Hope Garden is staffed by FRC clients who volunteer to work with Joan and provides a harvest of nutritional fruits and vegetables which are used in the facility’s kitchen to create healthy meals.
The MHS Family Recovery Center, 1100 Sportfisher Dr, is a residential program that offers women, many with young children, the opportunity to go through drug or alcohol recovery while keeping their families intact. This program causes much less trauma for the children and instills self confidence in the women as well as bolstering their self-esteem.
