Partial+Solana+Hills+Trail+Closure

Solana Beach CA—Starting Monday, January 31, Caltrans and SANDAG Build NCC Crews will close a small portion of the Solana Hills Trail for grading and placement of decomposed granite surfacing. This construction work aims to increase active transportation opportunities within North County by providing clean and safe areas for people walking and biking.
Schedule:
This portion of the trail will be closed from Monday, January 31 to Monday, February 28. For your safety, please stay work zone alert and do not enter the active construction site. Construction activity on the highlighted portion of the trail is anticipated to be complete within one month.
*Please note construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather including fog and forecasted rain.
Annie’s Canyon Trails will remain open, however access to Annie’s Canyon from Solana Hills Trail will be closed.
Please see the map below for additional information:

What to Expect

Nearby residents and businesses can expect daytime and overnight construction noise and lights, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) required vehicle back-up alarms. Crews will work to minimize noise and impacts to all nearby communities, and motorists will be detoured with signage and traffic controls.
Once complete in 2023, the Caltrans and SANDAG Build NCC program’s $870 million package of highway, rail, and environmental improvements will include one new Carpool/HOV Lane in each direction on I-5, between Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach and State Route 78 in Oceanside.
The Caltrans and SANDAG Build NCC construction team will continue to send email updates for construction activities. To view up-to-date notifications, visit KeepSanDiegoMoving.com/BuildNCC.
