I am not only an old dude now; I am also a wise old dude now, I know a bad deal when I see one.
Again I implore all O’side voters to read their voter pamphlets regarding this matter. Measure K is placed upon the ballot by the Oceanside City Council. In the materials within the voter pamphlet, you will get to read for yourself and decide independently what is best for you and your city. AND THEN VOTE!
Read all the categories with the following headers regarding Measure K in that pamphlet …….”City Attorneys Impartial Analysis”, “Argument in favor of Measure K”, “Rebuttal to Argument in favor of Measure K”, “Argument against Measure K”, “Rebuttal to argument against Measure K”.
For instance, you will read a true story of the power of this office in the page titled “ARGUMENT AGAINST MEASURE K”; to wit…….In 1999, Oceanside’s (elected) City Treasurer Rosemary Jones stood up against an Oceanside Mayor who directed her to place $100M of the City’s $135M portfolio into a ponzi-like scheme. SHE REFUSED! She saved the taxpayers millions of dollars by refusing to comply!!
She was able to exercise INDEPENDENT judgment because she was an ELECTED OFFICIAL!! Consider that a Securities & Exchange Commission attorney investigating the scheme said Rosemary avoided a financial “tragedy” for the City. Does an APPOINTED employee who refuses “the boss” keep their job?
I now offer for your further consideration additional public news information from three web addresses concerning the true impact and person of former (elected) O’side City Treasurer Rosemary Jones, and the way a past sitting O’side mayor is said to have almost bankrupted this city. Except for one ELECTED HEROINE of a City Treasurer who was in his way. THINK ABOUT IT and THEN VOTE, huh?

AGAIN…..I beg all who vote to take the time to read independently and become informed. Do not believe those attack ads you see, do not believe anyone who would seek to malign or character assassinate those with whom they disagree as “ranting”, (or otherwise uninformed). READ YOUR VOTER PAMPHLET and research on-line independently my friends. WE THE PEOPLE must prevail by voting NO on K to ensure an independent financial watchdog protects our city, and thus ourselves, as in the manner of a heroine named Rosemary. And you know what else folks, they don’t award a college degree in heroism; one either is or isn’t made of that kind of cloth by our God above.
Good luck all, we are going to need it. KEEP YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE….VOTE NO ON MEASURE K !!!
