Letters to the Editor- Deciding the Future of Oceanside

Letters+to+the+Editor-+Deciding+the+Future+of+Oceanside

Oceanside is deciding its future in this election. You the voters of Oceanside will determine what our kids and grandkids and their kids will have left of Oceanside. The developers have already taken over our beachfront and our downtown. The vacation rentals are running rampant in our neighborhoods. And now the Orange County Developers want to turn what’s left of Oceanside into another Mission Viejo and rezone our agricultural/farmland into another 585-housing tract. Have you had enough Oceanside of this developer loving council selling us out for campaign contributions in Oside?? The developers are flowing campaign contributions to Weiss, Feller, Rodriguez, Keim for their vote. Let me tell you about the people who care about Oceanside and have continually worked to do what is right for the residents and neighborhoods of Oceanside.
Shari Mackin, District 3 Council: www.district3oceanside.com

  1. Do you like those beach parking passes that you can hang from your

car mirror? Well Shari was the one that made that happen.

  1. Shari is the Co-Founder of Citizens for the Preservation of Parks and

Beaches which was formed to stop the paving of our beach at North
Harbor Beach and to stop developer Doug Manchester from taking our
Beach Parkland at the pier and stopped Manchester from taking El Corazon.

  1. Shari also worked to find and open a closed beach access in South O.

Jane Marshall, District 4 Council: www.jane4oceanside.org

  1. Jane spearheaded the effort to stop a 4-lane highway from running thru our

parkland at Guajome Park.

  1. Jane worked tirelessly to defeat those flashing digital signs from our roadways,

parks and beach areas.

  1. Jane is opposed to rezoning our precious agricultural/farmland for sprawl

Development.
Esther Sanchez, Mayor of Oceanside: www.esther4mayor.com

  1. I met Esther over 22 years ago while we were fighting to save our beach

Parkland at the Pier and stop the permanent closing of Pacific Street. She has
been representing Oceanside ever since those early days.

  1. Esther, as our councilmember, was instrumental in getting our Pier area

Bathrooms finally under construction.

  1. Esther represented Oceanside as a member of the California Coastal

Commission, not only to protect Oceanside but all of our Coastline.
So Now it is on all of us to decide where Oceanside goes from here. This election is one of the most important elections ever to face Oceanside. Who will you vote for: the developers who want to buy $$ your vote, or will you vote for Esther, Shari & Jane who have a proven record of caring and working for Oceanside Parks & Beaches as well as our residents and neighborhoods? The choice is yours Oceanside. Please join the Citizens for the Preservation of Parks & Beaches and VOTe for:
Shari Mackin, District 3 Councilmember
Jane Marshall, District 4 Councilmember
Esther Sanchez, the next Mayor of Oceanside
And VOTe NO on L Let’s save what’s left of Oceanside. Oceanside needs your VOTe.
Thank You for helping to save what’s left of Oceanside. Please VOTE. Thank You.
Carolyn Krammer, Chairperson, Citizens for the preservation of Parks & Beaches
