More name-calling and smears being spread about Yes Measure L: North River Farms and our supporters.
The North River Farms team is locally based in Encinitas. They are not from out of town. They care about our community and have a well-documented track record in Oceanside.
The Oceanside Fire Chief and the Oceanside Firefighters are professionals. I trust them to assess the project and they have said that North River Farms will be safer than existing communities.
A YES vote on Measure L is a vote to preserve Oceanside farmland. It creates San Diego County’s first farming neighborhood centered around an 88-acre working farm.
We need more local farming, not more estate homes on sprawling 2 ½-acre lots. If Measure L fails, farmland won’t be preserved – it will be divided up into mansions that Oceansiders can’t afford. That’s what the zoning called for before North River Farms was approved.
