American Council on Exercise launched its new toolkit that provides guidance for fitness professionals on hosting physical activity experiences in shared-use spaces

The toolkit, available exclusively to ACE Certified Professionals, offers step-by-step guidelines on how to obtain shared-use agreements for in-person outdoor fitness

San Diego CA— As the next step in its support of fitness professionals being able to better utilize outdoor and shared spaces during the pandemic, American Council on Exercise has released a toolkit providing the complete steps on how to obtain a shared-use agreement and resources to help make it a reality. The ACE Shared Use Agreement Toolkit provides step-by-step instructions to obtain a shared-use agreement, as well as creative solutions for fitness professionals to open safely or lead outdoor exercise sessions while maintaining social distance.
The COVID-19 health crisis has forced many health and fitness centers to shutter their doors due to state and local regulations prohibiting or limiting indoor exercise. As a result, thousands of exercise professionals and business owners in communities across the nation are struggling to make ends meet and keep their businesses open.
The ACE Shared Use Agreement Toolkit offers a clear solution – a step-by-step guide for fitness professionals looking to safely and legally host outdoor classes and workouts utilizing a variety of open outdoors spaces.
American Council on Exercise prides itself on being able to provide clear solutions and next steps for the nation’s fitness community. This toolkit offers solutions for certified fitness professionals to strengthen local economies across the nation by providing expert insight on how working with local parks and recreation departments, or similar organizations, can provide lasting benefits for both a healthy community and a sustainable fitness business.
“It is important that we support our local certified exercise professionals, health coaches and fitness centers who have been negatively impacted by the global pandemic. Exercise Professionals and other providers of physical activity programs across the nation need creative solutions, tools and resources to keep their businesses open and Americans moving, to promote healthy lifestyles and lower the risk of preventable diseases,” said Graham Melstrand, ACE’s Executive Vice President, Mission and Innovation. “The ACE Shared Use Agreement Toolkit offers a clear solution with step-by-step guidelines on how to obtain a shared-use agreement and how to engage communities in safe physical activity experiences while adhering to state and federal public health protocols.”
