Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College Community Education and Workforce Development provides training to civilians, active duty/reserve military, veterans, law enforcement, and protection specialists. Courses can be taken individually or grouped together. Our training pipelines produce highly trained protection specialists suitable for duty in non-permissive environments, or on professional, corporate and celebrity protection teams.
Courses offered include:
Certified AT/FP Specialist (CAPS): This course is for individuals wishing to break into the static security or law enforcement industry by receiving training and certificates in numerous security and law enforcement-related subjects, skill sets and equipment.
Corporate & Celebrity Protection: This course is the ideal starting point for those wishing to get into the protection business or those transitioning from military or law enforcement, or for high threat protection specialists/WPS/PSD to add corporate and celebrity protection to their existing knowledge and skill sets.
High Risk Medic: Whether you are working in the US or abroad, well-rounded medical training can be the difference between life and death. Many people do not have time to attend lengthy EMT or paramedic courses, not to mention the dedication and opportunity to become a military medic. This course was designed with this in mind, and covers the most important life-saving aspects of all of these emergency medical professions.
High Threat Protection: The HTP course bridges the gap between conventional domestic protective operations and war-zone PSD work. The 19-day course provides the training, knowledge, and skill sets to be a proficient protective team leader/member in all threat areas by focusing on one of the most challenging protective environments, the high threat-low profile area of operations.
Advanced High Risk Protection: Designed to prepare students for a career in protective services at private contractor and governmental levels (diplomatic protection, US State Department WPS, US federal law enforcement, high risk protective agents in non-permissive environments)
International Security Adviser: Take what you learned in HTPS and conduct in-country threat/risk assessments.
Conflict Management Negotiator: Learn how to act as a crisis negotiator in the event of kidnapping, extortion and other criminal actions. The course is designed and taught to be actual working negotiators.
