Carlsbad CA— MiraCosta College’s Community Education Program is offering two courses in blueprint reading this spring:
Blueprint Reading I: This course is designed for students in the manufacturing trades. This 15-hour, hands-on class helps students to read and correctly interpret blueprints. Students will also get an opportunity to draw and edit simple blueprints through step-by-step development of multi-view drawings. This class is scheduled for Mondays & Wednesdays, 2/1–17, 5–7:30 p.m. at the Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad. Fee is $75.
Blueprint Reading II: This is an intermediate-level blueprint reading class for students in the manufacturing trades. In this 15-hour, hands-on class, students will read, interpret and draw more complex blueprints. This class will cover more symbols, provide advanced topics such as fasteners and screw threads, and cover tolerances. NOTE: Students should be familiar with the basics of blueprint reading. This class is scheduled for Saturdays, 4/2–16, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. . at the Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad. Fee is $75.

MiraCosta College Offers Manufacturing Courses
MiraCosta College’s Community Education Program is offering the following noncredit courses this spring:
GD&T I: Whether you are an engineer or CNC machinist, knowing the basics of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is paramount to achieving success in the advanced manufacturing industry. This 20-hour course will provide the perfect introduction to GD&T, symbols, applications and methods of inspection. NOTE: It is recommended that you have taken a blueprint-reading course prior to the first class. This class is offered twice during spring semester: Mondays & Wednesdays, 2/22–3/9, 6–9:30 p.m. or Saturdays, 4/23–May 21, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad. Fee is $99.
GD&T II: This is an intermediate-level GD&T class for students who want to gain confidence in the use of GD&T on multiple technical drawings. Time is spent on datum comprehension, selection and applications. NOTE: Students must have exposure to both blueprint reading and an introductory GD&T course. The class dates have not yet been determined. Fee: $99.
