San Diego County CA— MiraCosta College’s Community Education and Workforce Development Program is offering the following not-for-credit community workshop courses this fall:
 
Clay for All
This is an all-inclusive course for the beginner as well as for the experienced potter. Learn hand building, wheel throwing, and glaze firing. Location: San Dieguito High School Academy, Room 38, 800 Santa Fe Dr., Encinitas. Time: Tuesdays, 10/25–12/6, 6:30–9 p.m. Fee: $158.
 
T’ai Chi by the Sea—Level 1
Explore the world of t’ai chi, the ancient Chinese martial art long valued as a healing, meditative and defensive practice. Fee: $60. Location: Fletcher Cove, Community Room, 133 Pacific Ave, Solana Beach. Time: Fridays, 10/21–12/9, 8:45–9:45 a.m. OR Location: Del Mar Powerhouse, Recreation Room, 1658 Coast Blvd, Del Mar. Time: Mondays, 10/31–12/12, 9:15–10:15 a.m.
 
Pilates Mat Class
A total body workout done on a mat with resistance exercises and no impact to the joints, Pilates challenges your core, as well as stretches and strengthens your entire body. Fee: $69. Location: Fletcher Cove, Community Center. Time options: Thursdays, 10/27–12/15, 9:15–10:15 a.m. OR Mondays, 10/31–12/12, 10:15–11:15 a.m.
 
Adult Beginning Ballet
Learn basic through intermediate ballet technique with barre and across-the-floor work. Fee: $69. Location: Fletcher Cove, Community Room. Time options: Thursdays, 10/27–12/15, 10:30–11:30 a.m. OR Mondays, 10/31–12/12, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Be Your Own Handyman
This course will teach you the basics of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, wall patch and tile repair. Fee: $49 each session. Location: MiraCosta College’s San Elijo Campus, Room 406, 3333 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff:
Session I: Do it Yourself—Rough Carpentry, Plumbing & Electrical, Saturday, 10/8, 9 a.m.–noon.
Session II: Do it Yourself—Wall Patch & Tile, Saturday, 10/15, 9 a.m.– noon.
Session III: Do it Yourself—Plumbing, Saturday, 10/22, 9 a.m.– noon.
Session IV: Do it Yourself—Electrical, Saturday, 10/29, 9 a.m.– noon.
