Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Dilcie Perez as its new dean of student life and judicial affairs. In her new role, which she began on October 11, Dr. Perez will oversee the college’s areas of student activities, athletics and intramurals, health services and student discipline. Her office is located on the Oceanside Campus.
Dr. Perez comes to MiraCosta College from CSU San Marcos, where she most recently served as the dean of students and led the growth of student life at the university and launched a Care Network that focused on early support intervention through an integrated approach to students’ experiences. While at CSU San Marcos, she also served as director of student life and leadership, where she launched a multicultural program for the university.
Dr. Perez is also an alumna of CSU San Marcos, having earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. Last spring, she reached a milestone in her educational career by earning a doctorate from San Diego State University in educational leadership with a concentration in community college leadership.
“Her focus on student equity and commitment to student development make her a great addition to our team and we look forward to her contributions to our students’ success,” said Dr. Alketa Wojcik, MiraCosta’s vice president of student services.
