Encinitas CA— Two San Dieguito Union High School District campuses will start the academic year with new leadership, the district recently announced.
District veteran Cara Dolnik is the new principal for San Dieguito High School Academy in Encinitas, and Scott Wild joins Pacific Trails Middle School in Carmel Valley as its principal. Dolnik replaces Adam Camacho, whose term as principal ended July 31 after he announced his resignation to take a private-sector job.
Dolnik has been with the district for 12 years and joins San Dieguito from Diegueño Middle School in Encinitas, where she was principal for the past four years. Diegueño received a California Distinguished Schools Program honor under her leadership, according to the district.
“I am beyond excited to be joining San Dieguito High School Academy as Principal for the 2022-23 school year,” Dolnik said in a district news release. “SDA is well-known for being a creative, caring and inclusive place, and I am honored to carry on the legacy and tradition of the esteemed Mustang family.”
In addition to her time at Diegueño, Dolnik was principal at Carmel Valley Middle School and assistant principal at Torrey Pines High School.
Wild joins the district from the Poway Unified School District, where he served as an assistant principal for the past three years at Oak Valley Middle School. He was with the Poway district for a decade.
“Pacific Trails Middle School has a strong reputation as a school that cares for the total child,” Wild said in San Dieguito’s news release. “I am humbled and honored to serve as principal and look forward to the opportunity to get to know the students, staff and community so that we can collectively work to meet the needs of each and every child.”
