“Scenery with factories” has become a way of life for the citizens of Fuji City. Its spectacular nightscape is illuminated with thousands of lights for overnight operations and symbolizes the industrial city of Fuji, lighting the direction of our history and future.
Recently, the view of the industrial factory illumination has attracted thousands of people every year becoming one of the more popular city entertainment in Japan.
Cities with many industrial complexes such as Muroran and Kawasaki have seen such attraction as a business opportunity from early years, and in 2011, the first “National Factory Night View Summit” was held. Fuji city, as a member of the summit, will host the event in December this year.
Compared with other cities, Fuji’s paper factory plants are widely scattered across the city and it may look smaller scale. However, there is a very unique night view only Fuji City can provide; a view with Mt Fuji, a World Cultural Heritage site, sitting symbolically behind these dazzling factories light displays.
