Oceanside CA- The Oceanside City Council approved funding for upgrades to six public restroom facilities along the beach and on the Pier. The two-phase project will result in the Tyson Street, Breakwater Way, and Sportfisher Way units, being completely rebuilt in their current locations. The completion of the first phase will increase the amount of stalls with 8 at the Breakwater structure, 11 at Sportfisher Drive, and 9 at the Tyson Street Park facility. The Wisconsin St and Pier facilities get a face-lift with paint and upgraded plumbing. The beginning of phase 1 is scheduled for Fall 2014.
Phase 2, slated to start construction in the fall of 2015, will focus on providing additional restroom facilities to the public, improving visitor serving facilities, infrastructure, and aesthetics. Additional areas being evaluated for improvements include; the historic Bath House restrooms, Oceanside Police Department and the Beach maintenance building south of the pier amphitheater. The plan is to improve beach operations support facilities, preserve the historical aspect of the area, provide a new larger restroom facility and implement sewer system infrastructure.
