Oceanside CA- The CHP reports an ambulance from the Balboa Ambulance Company went off the road on the 78 Eastbound plunging over 100 feet, downhill, near the College Boulevard exit. The ambulance driver stated he swerved to miss an animal on the freeway, over corrected and went down the embankment. On the way down the embankment, the ambulance took out power poles leaving 2700 SDG&E customers without power until just before 6:00 this morning. Despite the mayhem, no one was injured in the incident.
