Oceanside CA- The Life Time Tri Oceanside triathlon is scheduled for Sunday October 20, 2013. Road closures, traffic delays and detours are anticipated Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and include:
Harbor Drive South: Harbor Drive South closed 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Highway 76: West bound lanes closed from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Access for businesses and residents on the north side of SR76 will be on Mission Avenue as the westbound SR76 will be utilized for the bike course from Coast Highway to just before Old Grove Road. There will be two-way traffic on eastbound SR76, but no through traffic to access north of the highway. Residents and visitors should plan accordingly for the hours 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Neighborhoods north of Oceanside Airport should use Oceanside Swap Meet access road to Mission Avenue. Rancho Del Oro at SR76 will be closed to northbound traffic with detour to College Boulevard or Old Grove Road.
Coast Highway / SR76: The southbound I-5 exit to SR76 and Coast Highway will be closed from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. with detour to Mission Avenue.
Pacific Street/ The Strand: Pacific Street will be closed from Surfrider Way to Eaton Street from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. No parking will be available on Pacific Street. Residents and vacationing visitors are encouraged to park one block east if traveling during closure period. City parking lots will be available after 8 p.m. Resident access only from Surfrider Way to Pier View Way.
Neptune St /Cleveland Street: Westbound Neptune from Coast Highway to southbound Cleveland Street to Pier View Way will be closed with no parking from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Detour will be to Tremont Street. Residents should expect delays between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
More than 1,500 professional and amateur triathletes will descend upon Oceanside, Calif. to compete in the inaugural 2013 Life Time Tri Oceanside, the championship event for internationally renowned Life Time Tri Series hosted in beautiful Oceanside Harbor. The 1.5-kilometer swim will take place in the Oceanside Harbor, 40-kilometer bike on the westbound lanes of SR76 and 10-kilometer run course on the Strand and Pacific Street. Race start is 6:50 a.m. and finish is 11:30 a.m. at the Junior Seau Pier Amphitheater.
