Oceanside CA- (NCTD) In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, the North County Transit District modes will follow the Sunday/Holiday schedule on Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1, 2014. The COASTER will operate eight trains instead of the usual 20 as part of this holiday schedule; four northbound and four southbound.
COASTER connections at Carlsbad Poinsettia and Sorrento Valley stations will also not operate on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
SPRINTER trains will operate every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and hourly before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. BREEZE buses will also operate on a holiday schedule.
The six select Amtrak trains which stop at all eight COASTER stations will operate on a regular schedule on these holidays and COASTER passengers may ride these trains by presenting valid COASTER fare.
The only customer service available on Christmas day will be at the Oceanside Transit Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Vista Transit Center customer service will also be closed on Tuesday, December 24. On New Year’s Day customer service at the Oceanside and Escondido Transit Centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vista Transit Center will be closed on New Year’s Day. NCTD administrative offices will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1, 2014.

NCTD is once again offering free rides after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and extended COASTER and SPRINTER service to promote a safe holiday and discourage drinking and driving.
