Man Chased from Two Different Bedrooms of Young Girls-UPDATED

Update: The San Diego Sheriffs Department announced the arrest of 23 year old, Dwayne Farrell in connection with the “hot prowl” in San Marcos.
An arrest warrant was issued and carried out at approximately 2:30 this afternoon, Monday, after DNA collected at the crime scene matched with a sample of Farrells’ DNA on file with the Sheriffs office. The DNA at the scene was blood found under a second floor balcony where one of the hot prowls took place.
Farrell was a suspect after deputies recognized the description of the intruder and was placed under surveillance until the DNA results were made available and the warrant was issued. Farrell was arrested in front of his San Marcos residence on burglary charges but more charges are possible.
Original story follows:
San Marcos CA- Deputies from the San Marcos Station responded to a call a residential “hot prowl” where a 7 year-old female victim awoke to find a Black male adult kneeling by her bed. When the suspect noticed the girl was awake he stood up and fled through the living area sliding glass door.
About 25 minutes later, we received a second call from the same apartment complex. In that call an 8 year-old girl and her mother, who were sleeping in the same room, woke up to discover an unknown Black male lying on the floor of the bedroom, next to the child’s bed. The mother chased the man out of the room out the living area sliding glass door, where the suspect jumped to the ground from the second story balcony and ran off.
The description of the suspect is similar in both cases: Black male adult, 5’7″ – 5’9″, scruffy facial hair, wearing a beanie, white t-shirt and dark pants.
Detective Karen Stone of Sheriff’s Child Abuse responded to the scene to assist and is directing the follow-up investigation in this case.
