Oceanside CA- After 14 years and over a half a million visitors, the Mission Branch Library, located at 3861-B Mission Avenue, is getting new flooring and carpet. The Mission Branch Library will be closed for the month of March for this project, as well as for some deferred building maintenance.
CJ Di Mento, Senior Librarian at the Mission Branch, explained the Library use to be an old grocery store and has some traffic flow issues that will be resolved during the closure. “We are going to make the Children’s area more kid friendly and the computer area more user friendly.” said Di Mento. Money for the improvements was made available, this year, due to several librarian retirements.
During the closure, the Library’s Bookmobile will be on-site in the Mission Branch Library parking lot on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to offer service. Additionally, Library staff looks forward to serving customers at the Civic Center Library, located at 330 North Coast Highway, or at one of the regularly scheduled Bookmobile stops during this project. Visit the Mission Branch Library when it reopens in April to enjoy programs, computer classes, and more, in a new and restructured environment. Please check the Library’s website at www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org for more information and updates.
