Oceanside CA- SpringHill Suites by Marriott opened its doors for business, Tuesday morning in Oceanside. “The doors are unlocked and we can throw away the keys.” said co-founder, President and CEO of Sage Hospitality, Walter Isenberg. ” We are now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.” Sage Hospitality, based in Denver, Colorado will be managing the 149 suite, Marriott franchise for GF Properties Group, part of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund in Southern Colorado.
Isenberg said the hotel was designed to LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, specifications and they are pursuing a Silver Certification. “We will be a presence in Oceanside.” Isenberg said. The people of SpringHill Suites will be an active part of the community. Pat Vaughn, President and COO at the GF Properties Group said the investment group was a small one “but we invest for the long-term.”

The grand opening ceremony began with an invocation then a drum circle and songs by the Southern Ute Indians, Yellow Jackets. Jimmy Newton Jr., Southern Ute Indian Tribal Council Chairman explained the drum as symbolizing the heartbeat of life and “The hotel is coming to life, today” Newton Jr. also presented Oceanside Mayor, Jim Wood with a ceremonial tobacco pouch.
The hotel is the newest suites hotel along the Southern California coast and is unique in design. Artwork is original, created by local artists and displayed throughout the beach house styled hotel. The design and interior color palette is inspired by the surf culture of the area. The hotel features a rooftop pool on the sixth floor, an outdoor entertainment area on the second floor, both with views of the ocean and the Oceanside pier. The hotel has 2 meeting rooms the largest meeting room is Oceanside Pier/Trestles with maximum meeting space of 2,235 sq ft and maximum capacity of 130.

The suites are larger than typical hotel rooms with separate living, working and sleeping spaces providing guests with maximum flexibility and functionality. King and queen size pullout sofas increase sleeping space while full size bathtubs and marble-top vanities add to the creature comforts. SpringHill Suites offers guests complimentary Wi-Fi in the hotel’s lobby. Every suite has high-speed Internet access allowing guests to remain connected at all times.
The hotel at 110 North Myers Street will be joined by the Hello Betty Fish House Restaurant which is set to open in the next week. The menu will reflect Southern California and Baja dinning with favorites such as margaritas & fish tacos.
