Sheriff’s Dept. Looking for San Marcos Hit and Run Driver

San Marcos CA- The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is looking for a hit and run driver and is seeking assistance from the public. The incident took place on Monday the 24th, at 3:51 p.m. An 18 year old pedestrian, walking on the sidewalk near the intersection of South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Linda Vista Drive, was struck by a vehicle. The driver then fled the scene in a light colored pick-up truck.
The light colored pickup truck, driven by an unknown suspect, was heading northbound on South Rancho Santa Fe Road. As the truck approached the intersection of S. Rancho Santa Fe Road and Linda Vista Drive its right tires went on top of the east sidewalk and the truck struck an 18 year old male pedestrian that was walking on the sidewalk. After the vehicle hit the pedestrian, he fell onto the ground. The light colored pickup truck fled the scene of the collision. The pedestrian was transported to the Palomar Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of serious injuries caused as a result of the collision.
The collision investigation is being conducted by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Marcos Traffic Unit.
