The City of Carlsbad has completed an updated assessment of structures affected by the Poinsettia Fire.
8 single family homes were destroyed or incurred substantial damage
3 single family homes sustained minor damage
1 multi-family 18-unit apartment building was destroyed
1 multi-family 18-unit apartment building incurred considerable damage
2 commercial buildings destroyed/substantially damaged
1 modular building was destroyed
Updated estimate on value is being developed.
Police Department for a non-emergency issue, like a crime report, we are now back to normal police services. Non-emergency number is 760-931-2197. Safety Center is open Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City Hall and the Faraday Center will be open for regular business tomorrow, Friday.
Dove Library will be closed today, Friday, May 16. Cole Library is open today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Library Learning Center is open today 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dove Library Storytime Theater programs on May 16 will be relocated to the Learning Center (10:30 a.m.) & Cole Library (1:30 p.m.). The library has extended due dates for any items normally due this week (May 14 through May 18) to Monday, May 19. All holds for library materials have been extended until Monday, May 19. Questions? All City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed today, with the exception of the Carlsbad Senior Center, located at 799 Pine Ave. The Senior Center will be open normal hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; all regularly scheduled services will be available and the Senior Center will continue to serve as a “cool zone.” All Parks & Recreation classes are cancelled for Friday.
