Oceanside CA- The Oceanside Police Department is asking for the public’s help in a fatal hit and run investigation. On May 17, 2014 an unknown person driving a vehicle similar to the one in the photograph above, tried to run down victim Victor Macias on Santa Barbara Street in the City of Oceanside. The driver intentionally struck another vehicle and forced it to strike Macias, who was hiding behind it. The victim fell backwards and struck his head on the ground. He later succumbed to his injuries of blunt force head trauma at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla on May 19th.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2007 – 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4 door or extra cab. The vehicle has extensive left side, front end damage. It is missing the Toyota emblem from the front of the vehicle. It is also missing the left front fender flare.
