Oceanside CA – With the recent outbreak of fires in San Diego County, Rubio’s Restaurants®, the brand known for popularizing the fish taco and giving back to the community, has teamed up with the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation to host a fundraiser aimed at honoring the brave first responders who battled the blazes. On Thursday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to close, Rubio’s will donate 20 percent of check totals from each dine in, take out or catering purchase. All donations will directly benefit the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation, which provides heroic first responders with the necessary funding to purchase the equipment, technology and training required to keep the citizens of San Diego safe.
Fans, friends and community members alike are invited to support the cause by printing this flyer, [Link], and presenting upon purchase at the following Rubio’s locations: Carlsbad (El Camino/CA 78, Palomar Airport Rd./El Fuerte, and The Carlsbad Premium Outlets) Carmel Mountain Ranch, Escondido, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, San Marcos (Nordahl/CA 78 and The San Marcos Theatres) and Scripps Ranch.
“Rubio’s is always looking for ways to give back throughout the communities it serves,” said Ralph Rubio, founder of Rubio’s. “With the recent San Diego fires impacting so many in our community, we felt compelled to do something. We are so happy to team up with the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation to help raise funds that directly benefit the fearless first responders who do so much for us in San Diego.”
Rubio’s passion for giving back and creating delicious coastal cuisine began in 1983 when the first Rubio’s opened in the San Diego community of Mission Bay. To date, Rubio’s has sold more than 170 million Original Fish Tacos® and uses sustainable seafood in nearly all of its seafood menu items. The San Diego-headquartered brand continues to expand its menu with innovative recipes, ranging from sustainable shrimp to Atlantic salmon. In addition to serving certified sustainable seafood, Rubio’s also offers grilled marinated chicken and steak, no-fried pinto beans, salads, handmade guacamole, and a variety of proprietary salsas – all prepared in Rubio’s kitchens.
