Encinitas CA– On Thursday, May 29th shortly after 2:00 p.m., Encinitas deputies responded to a radio call to assist the lifeguards with two drowning victims at Moonlight Beach. When they arrived on scene, both victims had been pulled from the water and life saving measures were being performed. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment where they remain but their condition is unknown.
Deputies searched the beach and made PA announcements along the beach and shoreline to assist in identifying the two victims. Deputies also walked the beach in an effort to try and identify any items the victims might have left behind. At this point, both victims have yet to be identified. Anyone who knows the who the two people are that were rescued on Thursday afternoon should contact the San Diego Sheriff’s Department or San Diego Lifeguard Services.
