Vista CA– San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Vista Sheriff’s Station want the public’s help in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery.
Detectives say on June 17th at around 2:20 a.m., two Hispanic men armed with handguns robbed three men that were sleeping inside a car parked at the corner of Nevada Avenue and Lemon Avenue in Vista.
The three victims were forced out of their car and ordered to lay face down on the ground while one of the suspects searched them. The unknown suspects stole two cellular phones and a wallet containing cash and identification. They threatened to shoot the victims if they got up after the suspects left the scene. The suspects were seen walking southbound on Lemon Avenue, checking parked vehicles for unlocked doors.
A short time later, one of the victims got up and followed the suspects to the dead end of Lemon Avenue. That’s where one of the suspects fired a single gunshot in the victim’s direction. The suspects were last seen heading toward the area of Palm Drive and Alvarado Terrace.
Suspect Descriptions
Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic man between 18 and 25-years-old. He stands 5’8” and weighs 150 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a dark bandana covering his nose and mouth. He was also wearing gloves.
Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic man between 18 and 22-years-old. He stands 5’5” and weighs 140 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a dark bandana covering his nose and mouth and gray short pants with a lot of coins in his pockets. He was also wearing gloves.
Anyone with information on the identity and/or location of the suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
