San Marcos CA– A wild chase ended when the vehicle being pursed flipped over on I-15 and Hwy-76, tying up traffic on the interstate during the afternoon commute.
Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:21, a patrol unit from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Marcos Station, attempted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Durango, at Nordahl Road and El Norte Parkway Road for running a red signal light. The vehicle failed to yield and was pursued southbound on Interstate 15.
The vehicle eventually exited the freeway at Via Rancho Parkway and entered the parking lot at the North County Fair. As the deputy continued to pursue the vehicle, the suspect crashed through a chain link fence, drove up an embankment and re-entered the freeway. As the suspect vehicle returned to the freeway, the passenger threw an unloaded firearm from the car.
CHP units were requested and assisted in the pursuit, following the vehicle to NB Interstate 15 and Highway 76. At Interstate 15 and Highway 76, the vehicle exited the freeway, did a u-turn and then attempted to re-enter the freeway traveling the wrong direction (S-bound on the N-bound off ramp).
Patrol units from the California Highway Patrol attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, however as the suspect vehicle continued to evade law enforcement, the vehicle rolled over near the off ramp. A male identified as Adam Heath, and female identified as Tatiana Nedeljkovic, were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Inside the vehicle an additional handgun was located, as well as, drugs and potential stolen property. Both suspects were booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple felony charges and multiple felony warrants.
