Large Crowds Expected at Local Beaches for Weekend

Oceanside CA- Today, the City is expecting large crowds at local beaches. Parking will be at a premium. NCTD added more trains to the Coaster and Sprinter lines for people to use as alternate transportation [Link].
The Oceanside Police Department will be out in full force throughout the city and particularly in the Harbor and at the beach for the entire day.
Vendors will have tents set up along the Strand, in Oceanside, which will only be open to pedestrians and bike riders between Wisconsin Avenue and Breakwater Way, on the Fourth.
The following street closures will be in effect today from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Pacific Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Wisconsin Avenue to the Harbor. Bicycles will be allowed on Pacific Street. Mission Avenue between Cleveland Street and Pacific Street will also be closed.
There will be no fireworks in the city on July 4.

A general reminder to everyone who comes to the beach area and the Harbor on the Fourth of July is that City Ordinance 1.7(i) establishes a safety zone. Fines for all Oceanside City Code violations will be tripled in this area. Examples of pertinent City Codes are, but not limited to, glass beverage containers on the beach, open containers of alcohol on the beach, diving or jumping from the pier, and having a dog on the beach or the pier (with the exception of seeing eye dogs and service dogs). The safety zone is designated as the area west of the railroad tracks to the Pacific Ocean and north and south to the City limits.

At the Harbor, Yankee Doodle Dinghy Parade

In celebration of Independence Day on 4th of July, participants decorate their dinghies in a patriot theme and parade around the inner harbor. Sponsored by Oceanside Yacht Club.

Independence Fireworks Show, Thursday

Oceanside held its Independence Day fireworks show on Thursday night at the El Corazon Senior Center. The show drew large crowds throughout the business park area.
The fireworks could be seen from most of Oceanside and made for tricky driving on roads in the area as drivers were paying attention to the show, not the road. Food trucks were set up along Rancho del Oro along with displays by the Oceanside Fire Department and the Parks and Recreation Department. Local business park restaurants, like Gandolfo’s New York Deli, Felix’s BBQ with Soul, Rosina’s Italian Restaurant and the Junkyard Grill were filled to capacity prior to the pyrotechnic display.
