Encinitas CA– On Saturday, July 19, 2014, at about 4:48 PM, Deputies from the Encinitas Sheriff Station responded to a report of a male adult pedestrian being struck by a north bound Amtrak train. The pedestrian was found responsive by emergency personnel.
The male sustained injury to his right arm and was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. Witnesses say the victim was attempting to cross the tracks along the 1400 block of North Vulcan Avenue. He lost his footing, stumbled and fell as the train approached.
