Oceanside CA- This morning, August 2nd at 2:20, Oceanside Police officers responded to a radio call of a fight in the 4400 block of San Joaquin St. The reporting party advised two vehicles were involved, a gold four door and a black two door. As officers were en route, Oceanside Police dispatchers received another call of a stabbing victim in a vehicle stopped in the 4500 block of North River Road.
Officers linked this incident to the fight call on San Joaquin. The victim, David Holland, 24 years old, was found in the driver’s seat of a gold four door Volvo suffering from a single stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported by Oceanside Fire Department paramedics to Palomar Hospital by ambulance. Initial screening indicated his wound is not life threatening and he is expected to survive.
The passenger in Holland’s vehicle stated this incident started as a road rage in the area of College Boulevard and SR 76. A black vehicle with two Hispanic Males pulled up next to them at the light and started yelling at them. Holland turned onto SR 76 and eventually ended up in the 4400 block of San Joaquin St. Everyone besides the passenger in Holland’s vehicle exited and began fighting. At some point Holland was stabbed but returned to his car and drove off. Holland stopped on North River Road when he realized he had been stabbed.
