San Marcos CA- On Friday, August 1, 2014, deputies from the San Marcos Traffic Unit conducted a DUI checkpoint in the city of San Marcos. The checkpoint was set up in the 100 block of West Mission Road. Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for Deputies and the public.
Results of the DUI Checkpoint:
Total Cars through the Checkpoint: 495
Total Cars into the Checkpoint: 332
Cars Sent to Secondary for Evaluation: 34
DUI Evaluations: 7
DUI Alcohol Arrests: 4
DUI Drug Arrests: 0
Other Arrest: 2
In addition, there were 4 vehicles impounded and 17 citations issued for various violations including: driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, possession of Marijuana in a vehicle and letting an unlicensed driver drive a vehicle.
