Carlsbad CA– On Saturday afternoon, September 6 at 3:07 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Carlsbad Chase Bank located in the Poinsettia Village Shopping Center, 7176 Avenida Encinas.
The bank reported that they were robbed by a suspect described as a White male, approximately 18-19 years old, dark hair, wearing sunglasses, a white sweatshirt, gray short pants, and black shoes.
The suspect claimed to have a weapon but no weapon was seen. The suspect fled the bank with an unknown amount of US currency, westbound from the bank. Responding officers conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area without finding the suspect.

The Police Department is continuing this investigation with the assistance of the FBI.
