Oceanside CA– Quick work by firefighters from the Oceanside Fire Department kept a small fire from becoming a large one shortly after 10:00 Wednesday morning.
Firefighters from Oceanside, Carlsbad and Camp Pendleton responded to reports of a shed on fire next to a residence at 516 Santa Barbara Street.
“I was just working on some things in my house when my neighbor came to the door telling me my shed was on fire.” said Alan Soto, the homeowner. “My neighbors already called 9-1-1 so we just got out of the house.”
Firefighters made an offensive attack on the shed and set up protection on neighboring structures. The burning shed was directly next to Soto’s home, 15 feet from the neighbors house and right next to another shed on Soto’s property.
Damage was contained to the shed and its contents. Soto estimates damage to the contents at $10,000. There were no reported injuries and no cause for the fire is available at this time.
