Oceanside CA– On October 2, 2014 a serious injury traffic collision occurred at the intersection of SR-76 and Douglas Drive.
The collision occurred when a 2007 Toyota Corolla,driven by a 34 year old male, Oceanside resident, traveling eastbound on SR-76, made a left turn to go north on Douglas Drive. The Toyota was struck by an SDG&E utility truck, driven by a 39 year old, male, Vista residentthat was traveling westbound on SR-76. Witnesses at the scene stated traffic for SR-76 westbound had a green light when the collision occurred.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported via Mercy Air Ambulance to Scripp’s La Jolla for treatment. Their condition is unknown. The passenger in the SDG&E truck was transported to TCMC with non-life threatening injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision and alcohol does not appear to have played a factor in the collision. No citations were issued as the investigation is on-going.
