Oceanside CA— Early this morning, November 13, 2014 1:15 a.m. Oceanside Police officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery of a taxi driver for Courtesy Cab. They met the cab driver near State Route 76 and College Blvd.
The taxi driver stated he received a phone call from an acquaintance, Jenna Gamble, asking for a ride from a residence in the 4900 block of Concho Place. While the cab driver was waiting at the residence, two males came out and assaulted him. One suspect was armed with a piece of metal rebar, the other was armed with an unknown object.
The suspects demanded money and took $50 from the taxi driver. The suspects then struck the taxi driver multiple times in the head and body with the weapons, causing a laceration to his head and marks to the body.
The taxi driver knew one of the male suspects as “Dash”. Oceanside Police officers went to the residence and set up a perimeter. Phone calls into the residence were unsuccessful. PA announcements were made. One suspect, Dash Walters, fled out a bedroom window and into the backyard where he was detained. The second male suspect, Kevin Moore, and Jenna exited the front of the residence and were detained. All three were identified in a curbstone line-up as the suspects and were arrested for conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.
