Oceanside CA— Early in January of 2015, construction crews will begin moving one million cubic yards of soil to build the roadway foundation for Phase 2 of the SR-76 East Segment Project.
Phase 1 upgraded the I-15/SR-76 interchange, which opened to traffic in August 2013. Phase 2, which started this past fall, will widen SR-76 from South Mission Road to I-15.
Additionally, the project team is coordinating with the San Diego County Water Authority and SDG&E during the next several months to make significant upgrades to the utility infrastructure in the area. The SR-76 East Segment is the final project in a series of improvements between I-5 and I-15. Construction is anticipated through 2017.
