San Marcos CA— West-bound Highway 78 has been shutdown at Nordahl due to a fatal accident and a SIG Alert has been issued. The CHP and Escondido Police are currently investigating a fatality on SR-78 involving, possibly, three vehicles, two facing the wrong direction in the center divide and reports of a body on the freeway. East-bound lanes on SR-78 are open.The accident occurred approximately 4:32 this morning. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes.
