Suicide Reported as Cause of Death for Male Found Wednesday-updated

Update: The incident on January 7, 2015 occurred at 319 Horizon Lane in the City of Oceanside. The residence was under joint ownership of the two persons found deceased inside. The investigation has determined the incident was a murder/suicide and the two persons were living there together.
The victim has been identified as Janet Choe (55 years old). The suspect has been identified as Jae On Park (63 years old).
Oceanside CA— The San Diego County Coroners office has listed “Suicide” as the cause of death for the male found Wednesday in a home at 319 Horizon Lane in southeast Oceanside. His name is still being withheld by the corners office as they try to notify next of kin.
The coroner reports “The decedent had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, the 357 revolver was next to his body. No suicide type notes were found in the home.” The cause of death is listed as “Contact perforating gunshot wound of head due to: Self inflicted injury.”
On Friday, the corners office identified Janet Choe, 59 as the other person found in the home.
On January 6, 2015, Choe went to the mobile home, where she use to reside, at 319 Horizon Lane. On the evening of January 7, Oceanside Police Department officers responded to the residence to check on her welfare and found her dead with a gunshot wound to her head along with the male decedent.
The Oceanside Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance. Anyone with information regarding the residents or the incident on Wednesday, is asked to call the Oceanside Police Department at (760)435-4911.
