Carlsbad CA—The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has recognized the City of Carlsbad with a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its fiscal year 2013-14 budget, recognizing the city’s commitment to meeting the highest standards of governmental budgeting.
To qualify for the award, a government agency must satisfy nationally recognized guidelines, including creating a budget that serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communication tool.
In addition to recognizing the City of Carlsbad with the award, the association recognized the Finance Department with a certificate of recognition for its lead role in preparing the annual budget.
“This award represents work completed by city staff in all departments as well as our city leadership,” said Helga Stover, a finance manager for the City of Carlsbad who is in charge of developing the annual budget. “It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for the work we do.”
The Government Finance Officers Association is a professional association servicing the needs of more than 18,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners.
