Oceanside CA— North County Transit District’s COASTER train will celebrate 20 years of operation tomorrow, February 27th.
Featuring what are arguably some of the most beautiful views ever seen from a train, the COASTER attracts commuters, tourists, and local beach-goers alike.
In its first year, the COASTER accommodated 700,000 passenger trips. Today, annual COASTER ridership is over 1.7 million.
NCTD will mark the COASTER’s two decades of successful operation with customer-appreciation activities through the end of March including an online rider-generated photo contest.
We’ll be celebrating the COASTER 20th Anniversary at different stations throughout the month as we say “thank you” for riding. Please stop by and say hello, and pick up some COASTER goodies including a limited edition 20th Anniversary COASTER coaster!
