Oceanside CA—The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold Public Participation Hearings in Oceanside on June 2, 2015 regarding the rate change requests of San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) in order to make customers aware of the proposed revenue changes, and to solicit comments from customers about the impact the proposed changes could have on them.
The hearings in Oceanside is scheduled for:

  • June 2, 2015, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Oceanside Public Library, Civic Center Library Community Room, 330 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054

In its General Rate Case Application, SDG&E seeks CPUC approval to update its electric and gas revenue requirement (the funds SDG&E needs to safely and reliably operate its system) to $1.905 billion ($326 million gas and $1.580 billion electric), effective January 1, 2016. If approved, this revenue requirement would be an increase of about $111 million over the estimated 2015 revenue requirement, or a 7 percent increase. According to SDG&E, when the impact of commodity costs and other accounting adjustments are included, the increases actually result in a monthly bill decrease of 53 cents (-0.5 percent) for a typical residential electric customer, and a monthly bill decrease of 38 cents (-0.9 percent) for a typical residential gas customer, as compared to the 2015 bill. For a typical combined residential gas and electric customer, there would be a monthly bill decrease of 91 cents (-0.7 percent), as compared to the 2015 bill.
A CPUC Decision regarding the rate cases is expected in January 2016.
