Search Continues for Missing Couple

San Diego County CA— The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department continues the investigation to locate Cecil Knutson and Dianna Bedwell. The couple was last seen leaving the Valley View Casino in Valley Center on Sunday, May 10th at approximately 2:00 p.m.
According to relatives, Knutson and Bedwell had planned to drive to their son’s residence in La Quinta in Riverside County, however, they never arrived. Knutson and Bedwell have not returned to their home in Anaheim either.
On Monday, the California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert for the couple’s vehicle: a 2014 white Hyundai Sonata with California license plate 7EHE981.
The Silver Alert program establishes a quick response system designed to issue and coordinate alerts following the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of an elderly person. It will provide immediate information to the public about the missing person, including photographs, descriptions and the time/location last seen to speed the process in an effort to locate the person and return them to safety.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Homicide Unit has entered the investigation, however, this is routine when missing people are not located immediately.
At this time, any surveillance video that has captured the couple leaving the casino will not be released to the public.
Sheriff’s Search and Rescue has not been activated, since Knutson and Bedwell left in a car and there is not a specific area to search. San Diego and Riverside County Sheriffs’ Departments have conducted aerial surveillance around logical routes the couple would have taken without success. A parallel investigation is ongoing and specific details cannot be discussed at this time.
Anyone with information as to the couple’s whereabouts is asked to call the San Diego Sheriff’s Department at 858-565-5200 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
