Oceanside CA— It was a busy day around North County on Saturday. Below are some snapshots of events around Oceanside beginning with the Car and Motorcycle show at MiraCosta College.
The 5th annual Car and Motorcycle Show on the MiraCosta College campus was put on by the schools Automotive Technology and Business Programs with proceeds from the event going to benefit the college’s military, veteran and EOPS students.

There were 22 teams in the 9th annual Civitan Invitational Bowl-a-thon held at the Vista Entertainment Center. The event serves as a fundraiser and outreach opportunity for group members to meet other people in the community and let them know what their organizations are up to.

Carl DeMaio was the guest speaker at the Oceanside Republican Women Federated- Politics 101 meeting at the Veterans Association of North County building. DeMaio, a former San Diego City Council member, candidate for Mayor of San Diego and radio talk show host, spoke about, among other things, a pension reform initiative and getting people motivated in the political process.

Politics 101 is a monthly meeting in a relaxed atmosphere to inform anyone interested in topics of the day. The meeting is are on the last Saturday of the month and now held in the newly built Veterans Resource Center.
