Oceanside CA– Oceanside will begin celebrating Independence Day with the annual Independence Parade on June 27, 2015. Floats, horses, classic cars, marching bands, clowns and more will begin the parade route at 10 a.m. on Coast Highway from Wisconsin Avenue and ending at Civic Center Drive. Parade announcers will be strategically placed at Civic Center and Michigan Avenue.

“It will be a nostalgic and memorable parade experience especially since we declared this year’s parade theme, Legacy and Legends,” says Cathy Nykiel parade committee member. “Our theme was selected to honor those who contribute so much to our community. Come out and be a part of this wonderful event, wave your American flags and represent your group as we honor our Nation, Oceanside, local business and individuals that make up our community.”

First Friday ArtWalk

The Oceanside First Friday ArtWalk theme in July is Graffs Tats and Toons featuring artists including: Amber Iniguez, Carley Woods, Corey Whitlock, Jeannie Marshall Ortiz, John Martinez, Myles McGuinness, Paul “Ugie” Uglow, Rick Ortiz, Ruth Jameson, Sequoia Redbird and Taylor Gallegos.

Fireworks Presented by Oceanside Parks and Recreation

The public is invited to the City of Oceanside Fireworks Show on July 3, 2015, starting at 8:00 p.m. with the El Camino and Oceanside High School Bands performing until 9:00 p.m. when the fireworks display begins.

The fireworks will be staged north of the El Corazon Senior Center, located at 3302 Senior Center Drive. Rancho Del Oro Road will be closed at 5:00 p.m. north of Oceanside Boulevard and south of Mesa Drive. Limited parking will be available in the Ocean Ranch Business Park.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive anytime after 6:00 p.m., park in the nearby lots, bring a beach chair, and walk to the viewing area on Rancho Del Oro Road. Food trucks will be parked on Rancho Del Oro Road and will be selling a wide variety of foods. This event is free and open to the public.

Yankee Doodle Dinghy Parade

The Oceanside Yacht Club will hold their annual Yankee Doodle Dinghy Parade at the Oceanside Harbor. Participants decorate their dinghies in a patriotic theme and parade around the inner harbor.
Parade starts at 1:00pm with trophies awarded at 3:00pm.
