Oceanside CA— On September 25, 2015 at 4:17 p.m. officers of the Oceanside Police Department were dispatched to a serious injury accident on North River Road just east of Stallion Dr. Officers arrived and found the driver had been ejected from the vehicle.
The victim, Fallbrook resident Ignacio Gonzales (DOB 07/13/64), was a solo occupant in his Cadillac Escalade and was driving eastbound on North River Road. He failed to negotiate a left curve and drove off the roadway. He hit a metal pole and large rocks, which vaulted the vehicle into the field about 50 feet before hitting the ground.
Gonzales was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the collision. Oceanside Fire personnel performed life saving measures on Gonzales. Gonzales was transported to an area hospital where he died.
