The reporting party gave dispatchers a description of the suspect. Within moments of the description being broadcasted, an officer saw a possible suspect near the apartment complex at 201 Los Arbolitos. The officer called out to the person, who fled on foot. A foot pursuit began. When the person turned on the officer, the officer used his taser. The taser was ineffective and a fight ensued.
Other officers arrived and assisted the initial officer with taking the suspect into custody. Oceanside Fire Department paramedics were requested and the suspect was treated at the scene.
The investigation revealed the suspect (identified as Adolfo Evans) was tampering with property at the rear of the restaurant. One of the employees stepped outside to see what was happening. When he told Evans the restaurant was closed, Evans tried to enter through the open door. There was a brief struggle to close the door. The employee succeeded in shutting Evans outside and locking the door. Evans then went to the west side of the restaurant and threw his bicycle at the windows, breaking two large, plate-glass windows.
Adolfo Evans, DOB: June 6, 1970 who gives a Northridge, Ca address, but has been contacted in Oceanside several times, is charged with:
PC 69 Assault with injury on police officer
PC 594 Felony vandalism – damage was in excess of $2,000.00
