Carlsbad CA— On Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at approximately 1:20pm, the Carlsbad Police Department responded to a call of two roommates fighting at 1300 Laurel Tree Lane in Carlsbad.
The victim stated his roommate, Louie Duran, 43, had sprayed him with pepper spray and threatened him with an assault rifle.
Neighboring apartments were evacuated and Carlsbad SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team were activated.
At approximately 6:30pm the suspect was taken into custody without injury. Mr. Duran was booked into Vista Detention Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, displaying a weapon, and assault charges. Detectives recovered a loaded shotgun and a loaded assault rifle from the apartment. The investigation is ongoing.
