San Marcos CA— Detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail are investigating the death of 46-year-old, Teresa Ortiz.
On December 5th, 2015 at about 5:21 p.m., deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station responded to a home in the 3000 block of N. Broadway in the unincorporated area of Escondido due to reports of a woman suffering from trauma to the upper body.
Inside the home they found Teresa Ortiz. Ortiz was immediately transported by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Juan Garcia (a.k.a. Jose Luis Paredes), Ortiz’s estranged husband who lives on the property, is a person of interest in this case. He is believed to be driving an older model faded red ford
explorer with brown mud flaps. He is also believed to be in possession of a firearm.
