Oceanside CA— On September 26, 2015 at approximately 7:35 pm, a blue Ford Escort collided with a 64-year-old pedestrian on San Diego Street near Higgins Street.
Numerous people heard the collision and called 9-1-1. The pedestrian, an Oceanside resident, was unconscious upon the arrival of Oceanside Police Department and Oceanside Fire Department personnel.
The pedestrian was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries. He never regained consciousness and was pronounced deceased about three weeks later as a result of the injuries he sustained during the collision.
The Oceanside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is asking for the public’s assistance to locate any possible witnesses to this collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Investigator Bryan Hendrix at 760-435-4801, or at 619-717-0612.
