San Diego County CA— On Saturday, December 19th, the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station looked for people with outstanding warrants. The warrant sweep was conducted in San Marcos, Valley Center, as well as unincorporated areas of Escondido from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Deputies attempted to contact 38 people with outstanding warrants. Seven people were arrested on DUI, drug and driving offenses. The suspects were all taken to Vista Jail.
Deputies left notices regarding clearing a warrant for those who were not home during the warrant sweep.
People with outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at any one of the Sheriff’s Court Facilities.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) advised 4,320 people were arrested for DUI countywide in 2014 and there were 1,121 DUI‐related crashes last year. In the summer of 2015, eleven people were killed in DUI‐related crashes. This operation is aimed at keeping impaired drivers from roadways and preventing crashes that can cause serious injury or death.
